The Portal's swimming pools will remain open in the early New Year, after concerns they would be closed for maintenance.
KA Leisure confirmed both pools will remain open over the period, adding that they will identify a suitable period to carry out maintenance work.
A spokesperson said: "Further to previous press coverage we confirm that the swimming pools at the Portal will not be closing in the early New Year.
"Both pools will be operating with an amended festive timetable and will open as normal from January 3, 2018.
"We are currently in discussion with North Ayrshire Council to identify a suitable period to carry out the necessary maintenance and repair works.
"We will update our customers once the schedule of works is agreed.
