Police are appealing for information and assistance from the public to trace a woman missing from Woodlands View Hospital, Irvine since Sunday 24 December 2017.

Deborah Christie (54) was last seen by staff at the hospital at 1515 hours on Christmas Eve. It is believed that she left the grounds of the hospital via the top entrance.

She is described as white, 5 foot tall, of slim build. She wears a bobbed light brown wig and has brown eyes. She was wearing a light coloured jacket, black leggings, light coloured trainers and had a cream bag.

Inspector Christine Boyd, Irvine Police Office, said today: “Ms Christie is known to travel throughout Ayrshire and Glasgow; however, most frequently travels to South Ayrshire, especially Troon and Prestwick. She has been known to sleep rough, particularly in wooded areas and golf courses and we encourage golfers, dog walkers and cyclists to be vigilant for someone who looks as though they could be living outdoors.

“There have been no sightings of Ms Christie since Christmas Eve and there has been a significant drop in temperature over the last few days, increasing our concern.

“If you have seen Ms Christie recently or have any information that will help us find her, then please call officers at Irvine Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 2891 of Sunday 24 December 2017.”
