A CHILD has been rushed to hospital after being knocked down by a car in Irvine.
The 11-year-old girl was struck by a car and knocked off her bike in Middleton Road at around 3.50pm today.
She was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
The Times understands her injuries are not life threatening.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Police were called to Middleton Road today at around 3.50pm following reports that a female child had been struck by a car.
"She was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment."
Middleton Road has been cleared and is now open.
