A 32-year-old man who assaulted and injured a woman is to be sentenced next month.

Derek Robert Wilson, of Glencairn Street in Saltcoats, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and pled guilty to two charges.

His plea of not guilty to a third charge was accepted.

On September 2 at an address in Irvine, Wilson threw a bowl at a woman, thereby striking her on the head, and pushed her on the body to her injury.

Wilson also failed to appear at a court diet October 18, having been granted bail on September 5.

For the assault to injury charge, the case was adjourned for reports.

Sentence was deferred for failing to appear at court, as Wilson has other matters calling.

Wilson will return to the court on February 14 on both charges to hear of his fate.
