A former Celtic footballer is pushing himself to the limit as he takes part in TV tough show SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Stephen Hall admits that he blew his chance at the big time during his time at Parkhead.

Now the 26-year-old wants to prove himself as a recruit on hit Channel 4 show.

Stephen was once destined for the Scottish Premiership when he signed for the Hoops under-19s squad, but he took his eye off the ball.

He told the Scottish Sun: "When I got there, everything was going to plan — I was training hard.

"But then things started to go wrong. My whole attitude towards training was bad.

"It cost me my time at Celtic. I started going on nights out and those started taking priority. I basically blew it."

Now Stephen, from Glasgow, is looking for redemption as he takes part in the gruelling show alongside 24 men which is filmed in sweltering Morocco.

He said: "I have always had a fascination with the SAS and I did want to join the military but I got talked out of it by my family.

"It was no-brainer to try to get on the show and I thought it would allow me to prove to myself that I have the mental strength to have made it as a footballer and just dig deep, work hard and get better."

SAS: Who Dares Wins is on Channel 4 tomorrow at 9pm.
