Police Scotland is appealing for the assistance of the public in trying to locate a man missing from Irvine.

Robert Munro, 46, was last seen around 8am on Thursday, February 1 2018 at Woodland View Hospital, Kilwinning Road, Irvine when he was attending for an appointment.

Robert is white, around 5 ft. 6 inches tall with a slim build, short, grey hair, clean shaven and has tribal tattoos on both his hands.

When last seen, he was wearing a waterproof jacket, blue jeans and black trainers. Robert has a brace on his right leg, resulting in him walking with a limp.

Extensive enquiries are underway to locate Robert, however attempts to locate him have so far proved unsuccessful.

Chief Inspector Gary I'Anson said: “It’s out of character for Robert not to contact his family. He’s been missing since last Wednesday and his family are understandably concerned.

"We have been checking CCTV footage and linking in with family and friends for any small piece of information which could help us trace Robert. We have receieved information that Robert may have travelled to Belfast or Dublin via ferry from Cairnryan. I would appeal to anyone who may have seen Robert or who has any information regarding his whereabouts to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers via 101, quoting incident number 3663 of 01 February 2018.
