A talented Greenwood Academy pupil has become a published author after the Scottish Qualifications Authority launched a brand new collection of creative writing.

Owen Wilson’s work features in Write Times 2, produced by students from across Scotland who have completed English courses over the past year.

He is featured in the poetry section, with a piece inspired by the lack of Gaelic speakers in Scotland.

Written in Scots, the Advanced Higher student used the poem to express his fears that we are losing touch with our culture and history.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon Minister writes in the book: “It is heartening to see the young writers in Write Times 2 engaging with the issues facing us, and giving their views with such thoughtfulness, intelligence and sensitivity.”

Copies of Write Time 2 will be issued to every school and college in the country and an e-book version will also be made available.
