POLICE are on the hunt after a woman was stabbed in Irvine at the weekend.

Late on Friday night, a woman was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital with a wound to her abdomen after the incident in St Bride’s Place.

At 11.30pm, officers were called to a property there after reports that a 29-year-old woman had been stabbed.

The victim’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
