An Irvine man is to face trial accused of beating up his daughter.
It is alleged that the man, who we can’t name to protect the identity of the alleged victim, assaulted his teenage daughter by seizing her by the hair, repeatedly striking her on the head and throwing her to the floor to her injury on November 23 last year.
It is also alleged he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards the girl by repeatedly shouting at her.
On the same date he is also accused of acting in a racially aggravated manner to another individual by shouting, swearing and uttering a racial remark.
He pled not guilty to all three charges and bail was continued.
He will face trial at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court next month.
