An Irvine Primary school has finally secured funding to fix its waterlogged pitch.
This follows years of lobbying from Woodlands parents, who have continually complained over the seven-year issue and restrictions the flooding causes.
During today's budget meeting £132,000 was secured to sort the waterlogged playground after the Labour group made an amendment to the Capital Investment programme.
This amendment had proposed a Improvement Fund which would allocate £486,674 to three projects including £200,000 for Ayrshire College Partnership Development, £154,674 for Kilbirnie Cemetery and £132,000 to fix the playing fields.
SNP members had proposed an amendment that the full £486,674 go to Ayrshire College Partnership Development, however the Labour amendment passed following a vote.
