A BROOMLANDS woman has avoided jail after biting a Police Sergeant in a vile attack.
Mhairi Saxton admitted assaulting two police sergeants in the execution of their duty by resisting, obstructing, hindering them before lashing out at them with her arms and legs and biting one of the officers on his body at Saltcoats Police Office on August 3 last year.
She also admitted to being in possession of a controlled drug, Cannabis resin at Saltcoats Police Station on the same day.
On the previous day at Broomlands Busway, the 32-year-old admitted to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, shouting and swearing and threatening violence before pushing another woman.
Saxton, of Gigha Lane, pled guilty to the offences at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on January 10 this year.
She was sentenced last week to a Community Payback Order of 12 months supervision and a 10 week Restriction of Liberty Order.
She was also ordered to pay £100 compensation.
