AN IRVINE teenager has denied trying to headbutt a police officer inside a police car.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of assaulting a police officer by lunging at him and attempting to headbutt him in a police vehicle whilst it was parked at the junction of Seagate and High Street on December 28 last year.
The teenager is also accused of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, by shouting, swearing and spitting and engaging in a struggle, whilst in a police vehicle travelling to Saltcoats Police Station on the same day last year.
The teenager pled not guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
He will return for trial in April.
