A man has admitted to crashing into a parked car while being more than sixtimes the drink-drive limit.
Derek Boreman, 50, had a reading of 136 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he lost control of his vehicle in Ardrossan.
The legal limit is 22 micrograms. Boreman, of Ardrossan’s Whitlees Crescent, pleaded guilty to two charges at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
He drove while he was over the limit on March 13 at Broadway, McDowall Avenue, Castle Road, Central Avenue, and elsewhere, lost control of the vehicle, entered the opposing carriageway and thereafter collided with a parked car.
Sentence was deferred until April 17. Boreman was bailed and, in the meantime, disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence.
