YOUNGSTERS won’t get the chance to be bored this Easter holidays – thanks to Kilwinning Sports Club.

The community club is hosting a Free Family Health and Wellbeing fortnight and everyone is welcome.

There is a range of free activities for children to take part in, including football, tennis, golf fitness arts and crafts.

And for the grown ups there is plenty to do as well, including Zumba yoga, gym sessions, circuits and a healthy eating workshop.

Dozens of youngsters have already packed into the club in the first few days of the Easter break to take advantage of the free activities and Sports Development Manager at the Club, Colin Hunter, says they are hoping to welcome more through the doors over the next two weeks.

He said: “We know the Easter holidays can be a time when families look for things to do together so we are running this Free Family Health and Wellbeing fortnight.

“It’s a chance for families to come to the club and join in the many activities on offer and enjoy themselves.

“We know that school holidays can mean extra expense but all of the activities included in this event are completely free.

“We hope to see as many faces from the community at the club as possible.”

Last week we revealed the Club has teamed up with the Buffs in a bid to discover the football stars of tomorrow.

The community club has joined forces with Kilwinning Rangers to strengthen its position as the premier football training facility in the town, in the hope that some youngsters will come through the ranks and eventually join the Buffs first team.

As part of that the Club is running an Easter Football Camp over the Easter break.

The camp will run Monday, April 2 to Friday, April 6 from 1pm-3pm each day. Cost is £4 per day or £15 for the full week.

Kids in Primaries 1-7 are welcome.

Just last week Colin from KSC and Buffs manager Chris Strain teamed up to take their joint message to local schools in the town.

They marked ‘Blue and White day’ – the colours of both clubs.

Colin said: “We went to the Blacklands and spoke to the kids there about what they can achieve if they come to Kilwinning Sports Club and the feedback and excitement was great.

“The Buffs got a great turn out for their game on Saturday against Pollok which was really encouraging and what it’s all about."
