IRVINE'S oldest pub is up for sale.
The Ship Inn is being sold after decades of being run by the Murray family, the Times can reveal.
The pub dates back to 1567, when it was a Customs House, before becoming a licensed hostelry in 1754.
'The Ship' - as it is affectionately known locally - is currently run by Murray brothers Christopher and Jamie who took over the reigns from dad, Iain in 2003.
Iain – who died suddenly in 2010 - took over the Ship 25 years ago and the harbourside venue became the cornerstone of the family business.
