A KILWINNING travel agent is making sure there are no barriers when it comes to mums breastfeeding in their store.

Staff at Thorne Travel in Kilwinning received their Breastfeed Happily stickers this week and learned all there is to know about the Breastfeeding (Scotland) Act 2005.

The Act means that it is illegal to stop a mother feeding her baby breast or formula milk in premises where the public has general access.

Samantha Garrity, Manager, Thorne Travel explains: “We’ve signed up to let people know that we are aware that mothers have the right by law to breastfeed in public. Some people may not know about it, so the sticker is a good way to make it clear to everyone that mums can breastfeed happily here.”

If you would like to find out which venues have signed up to the campaign, or you are a business owner who would like to display a sticker, please email ayrshire@ breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk.

The ‘Breastfeed Happily here Ayrshire’ Facebook page has the latest news of venues that have signed up.
