A man who assaulted and injured a woman has dodged a jail term.
Ryan Shannon assaulted the woman at his home address in Braidwood Road, Kilwinning, on February 18.
He repeatedly punched her on the head, pursued her, punched her on the face causing her to fall to the ground and thereafter repeatedly kicked her on the head all to her injury.
Shannon, 41, admitted to one charge of assault to injury at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
His plea of not guilty to a second charge was accepted by the prosecutor.
Shannon was sentenced to a community payback order of 300 hours of unpaid work as a direct alternative to custody.
