Loyalist flute bands will be parading through Irvine this Saturday as the Newtown Defenders hold their annual march.

The parade will gather at the Redburn Centre car park at 11.30am, before moving off at 11.45am.

Notice was previously given of the parade, with 300-350 expected to be in procession, which will start in Dickson Drive then move along Dick Terrace, Livingstone Terrace, Caldon Road, Eglinton Street and the High Street.

It will then make its way to the Volunteer Rooms where an indoor event will take place until the evening.

Bands on parade will include Irvine's Newtown Defenders FB, Abbey Star FB, Ardrossan Winton FB, Ballynafeigh Apprentice Boys FB, Glasgow Orange Defenders FB, Livingston True Blues FB, Prince of Orange FB, Sandy Road FB, Saltcoats Protestant Boys FB, Stirling Protestant Boys FB and Paisley Protestant Boys FB.

At the Volunteer Rooms entertainment will be provided by the Bellshill Defenders FB at 1pm, Livingston True Blues FB at 1.30pm, Saltcoats Protestant Boys FB at 2pm, Glasgow Orange Defenders FB at 2.30pm, Blackridge Thistle FB 3pm,  Ardrossan Winton FB at 3.30pm, Pride Of Argyle Accordion Band at 4pm, Ballynafeigh Apprentice Boys FB at 4.30pm, Provanhall True Blues FB at 5pm, and Spirit of Stewarton FB 5.30pm.

Organisers say hot food and refreshments will be on sale throughout the day and admission will be £3.
