A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Dreghorn.
The 23-year-old woman was hit by the vehicle on Corsehill Mount Road, outside of Greenwood Academy just after 2pm today.
Luckily the woman managed to escape serious injury but was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for a check-up.
A spokeswoman for Irvine Police said: "We received at call at 2.07pm today of a report of a woman having been hit by a car.
"Upon arrival Police found the 23-year-old was not seriously injured but was taken to Crosshouse Hospital as a precautionary measure.
"No one has been charged in connection with this incident."
