Police are hunting a man who chanted sectarian comments on a train last night.
The heavily intoxicated man left the train at Irvine station at around 9pm - after chanting "Up the RA" repeatedly on the Ayr-bound train.
Police were alerted however despite a full area search officers were unable to trace the man.
A spokesman said: "Officers from British Transport Police were called to Irvine station shortly before 9pm yesterday, after reports of a man chanting sectarian songs on board a train.
“A full area search was conducted however the man could not be traced.
"Enquiries are on-going and officers would ask anyone with information to get in touch by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 634 of 21/06/2018.”
