A MAN has appeared in court to deny the murder of a 23-year-old who died last year allegedly as a result of the injuries he sustained in an attack in 2012.
Jason Gilmour, 28, of Ladyford Avenue, Kilwinning is alleged to have caused Scott Hepburn’s death as a result of serious injuries inflicted on June 11, 2012, at Hill Street, Ardrossan by repeatedly punching him on the head, causing him to fall to the ground and then repeatedly kicking, stamping and jumping on his head.
Hepburn died at Greenfield Park Care Home, Glasgow, on April 17 last year.
Lorraine Glancy, defence counsel for Gilmour, entered a not guilty plea to the murder charge at the High Court in Glasgow.
Judge Lord Burns set a trial for November. It is expected to last 10 days.
Gilmour was bailed.
