Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a reported theft by housebreaking in Irvine.
Just after 6am on Tuesday, August 21 the resident of a property in McKinlay Crescent, Irvine challenged a person found within their home.
The suspect then fled into the street before it was established that money had been taken from within the house.
PC Robertson, of Irvine Police Office, said: “This was a traumatic experience for the householder. A break-in to someone’s home can have a serious impact on that individual and make them feel unsafe.
“We are carrying out enquiries to trace the person responsible and I would urge anyone who may have information which could assist this enquiry to get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number, 101 quoting incident 0450 of the 21st of August.
