Former Rangers defender Filip Helander has had a bumper £850,000 price tag put on him by Odense after Anderlecht had a second bid of £175,000 rejected.

The Swedish stopper only signed a one-year deal with the Danish club after leaving Rangers last summer following four injury-ravaged years in Glasgow.

But despite being out of contract at the end of the season. Odense want the hefty fee to allow the 30-year-old to move to Brussels.

Anderlecht made two bids of £125,000 and £175,000, but Odense want far more than that to sell the former Bologna stopper.

And the Belgian club look set to pull the plug on a move for Helander, who revealed last week he was unsure about his next club.

Helander said: ""It is difficult to say what will happen. I'm under contract until the summer and that's the only thing I can relate to.

"If something else happens, I'll decide. I will not reject anything, but right now I have no offer on the table."

Meanwhile, Philippe Clement has provided a Rangers transfer update following his side's 2-2 draw with FC Copenhagen.

The Ibrox outfit held their Champions League opponents to a draw in a friendly showdown with the Scottish Premiership on hold for the winter break.

After the match Clement was asked about further recruitments coming in during the January transfer window and he delivered a coy response.

The Belgian was also specifically asked about the left-back area with Borna Barisic out of contract in the summer and Ridvan Yilmaz linked with a move out of the club this window.

He explained: "We will see what is going to happen. Players need to show that they really want to be here over the next couple of months.

"We need to be prepared for everything, every position also.

"If something happens we must have solutions.

"At left back that is a position we have two players. One is at the end of his contract and the other there are a lot of rumours around him.

"It is clear we have to be ready in that position to have solutions.

"We cannot go on in three competitions with one left full-back that is clear for example and every other position is the same."
