Plans have been lodged to turn a vacant Irvine town centre premises into a cafe.
Proposals have been submitted by Sava Estates to North Ayrshire Council for renovations and the installation of a flue at 36 Bridgegate.
The premises was previously occupied by a retail outlet but have been vacant for some time.
The cafe would be situated on the ground floor of the building, with prep areas, toilets, storage and staff facilities on the upper floor.
Planning documents state: "The new cafe will contribute to the vitality and vibrancy of this part of Bridgegate, and in the evenings and in the winter months the splay of light from the large windows will illuminate the area and help promote a sense of safety and security, so important in fostering well being in a community."
The application can be found on North Ayrshire Council's planning portal with reference 24/00032/PP.
