An Irvine man has pleaded guilty to driving at more than double the speed limit on the wrong side of the road in town.
Pardeep Singh Attwal, 36, of Lyle Gardens, admitted a charge of driving dangerously and at excessive speed on Annick Road and Manson Road on July 1, 2023.
During a brief hearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court, Attwal confessed to driving at speeds of more than 60 miles per hour in a 30mph zone, repeatedly driving in the wrong carriageway, and forcing an oncoming police vehicle to take evasive action in order to avoid a collision.
Sentence was deferred until later this month.
