AN ELDERLY man has appeared in court charged with murder after the death of a woman in Irvine.
Robert Telfer, 82, appeared in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday, February 20, charged with murder.
Mr Telfer, of Irvine, made no plea during his brief appearance at the Ayrshire courthouse.
He was committed for further examination and will make a further court appearance at a later date. He has been released on bail until then.
Police Scotland announced earlier this month that an 82-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the death of a woman aged 81 at a property on Macara Drive in Irvine on Sunday, February 11.
