Celtic are monitoring highly-rated Turkish international keeper Ugurcan Cakır, according to reports in his homeland.

The Hoops are on the lookout for a new keeper with current No.1 Joe Hart announcing last week that he would be retiring at the end of the season.

And reports in Turkey have suggested Celtic have had scouts at recent Trabzonspor games to look closely at their 27-year-old captain Cakır.

Cakir has been with his current club for 12 years but is widely expected to move on this summer to a bigger club.

He was named as the keeper with the highest save percentage in Europe two years ago and was linked last year with a move to Southampton, which fell through.

He was previously linked with moves to Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund as back-ups.
With three years left on his contract, he wouldn't come cheap and is regarded as a hero at

Trabzonspor having helped them win the Turkish league in 2022 and their Cup two years earlier.

However, the the 26-times capped shotstopper is reportedly unsettled at the club because they are languishing 26 points behind leaders Galatasaray in third place.

And Celtic are looking at his situation as they hunt for a new goalkeeper.
