Man swore at staff when he couldn't work machine

AN IRVINE man lost the plot after hitting difficulties with a self-service checkout.

Rodger Ferguson, 53, was trying to buy wine at Asda in the Rivergate but couldn't operate the till.

And he vented his frustrations by hurling abuse at nearby staff.

Irvine District Court heard that the Doon Court man began shouting that he had been in the army before police were called in to arrest him.

Ferguson was fined £50.
