Punched tooth into lung
Man's horrific injuries after Kilwinning attack
A MAN subjected to a vicious attack in Kilwinning has undergone an operation to remove a tooth from his lung.
The 44-year-old was set upon by a large group near to Kilwinning railway station and received multiple facial fractures and lacerations to his head during the incident on October 4.
Inspector Robert Campbell revealed the extent of the man's injuries at a meeting of North Ayrshire Council's Kilwinning Area Committee last week.
He said: "He's had surgery to have a metal plate in his jaw and had an operation to get a tooth removed from his lung."
