TRAGIC: Stuart Donnelly

SCOTLAND'S youngest lottery winner has been found dead, leaving behind his mother at her Irvine home.

Stuart Donnelly, who won just over £1.9m in 1997, was found by his uncle at his home after mum May became worried when he failed to answer her calls.

Trainee pharmacist Stuart generously bought mum May Mayberry, 52, in Drybridge and lived by himself in a cottage in Castle Douglas.

May's partner Ian Wallace spoke to the Times telling us that the family were distraught by reports in the national media.

"We are disgusted at some of these false stories and some of the reports have cuased the family untold grief on top of what we are already suffering.

"They've said that he met a bride on a frequent visit to Thailand. He only went to Thailand once and didn't even like it."

"Stuart was a great guy. He lived his life the way he wanted and was kind to everyone," he added.
