A MAN who launched an attack on another man with a pole and then tried to rob him has been locked up.
Graeme Frew, 38, admitted to attacking Alexander Boylan at a house in Springhill Terrace, Springside on February 13 this year.
During the attack he repeatedly punched the other man, hitting him on the head with a pole, leaving Mr Boylan with injuries
And Frew then began rummaging around in Mr Boylan's pockets as he attempted to find money to steal.
He also admitted a further charge of stealing money and cigarettes from a house in Craig View in Springside the previous day.
Frew, currently a prisoner at Barlinnie, admitted charges of attempted robbery, assault and theft at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
However, a charge of making threats towards two people at another house in Craig View on February 11 was dropped by prosecutors.
Frew was sentenced to a total of eight months imprisonment at the court last week.
