AN IRVINE dinner lady is on the road to being crowned the best in Britain.

Pupils at Irvine Royal Academy and Lawthorn Primary are used to the culinary treats served up by Suzanne Duncan, but the talented school chef is ready to hit the bit time after being chosen to represent Scotland and the North East of England in the finals of School Cook of the Year.

"Meals in schools are about so much more these days, with all sorts of dishes on the menu," said Suzanne.
