IRVINE Meadow fans, players and management have rallied round the club in one of the momentous weeks in its long history.

The club had to face spiralling rumours of financial collapse as word circulated that its main sponsors, 3D Golf Plc, was faced with bankruptcy last Wednesday.

There were further claims that the club had debts to the company and would face having that money being called in had 3D Golf gone into administration.

But it became clear the company had not gone into administration this week, but had pulled financial support to the club as it faces troubles with a partner company, INTA, which has collapsed.

And although Meadow have admitted to a cash crisis, with players facing pay cuts, news that the sponsors were not in as much trouble as initially touted - combined with a famous win in the Scottish Cup - brightened both fans and management alike.
