BOURTREEHILL CO-OP SAVED FROM CLOSURE

Print | Email

SHOPPERS in Bourtreehill say they are "relieved" by the news that their lifeline supermarket looks set to be saved from closure.

Furious pensioners and other residents had started an angry campaign after it was announced that the Co-op in Lower Vennel would close.

It is expected that the jobs at the store will be saved.

Campaigner Betty Weir told the Times: "I hope this will be what we are looking for."
