Irvine rockers Culann look forward to their first gig of the year as the band celebrate 10 years together.

Culann play The Ship Inn this Friday, with support from Spleen and Stewart Bryden,

Lead singer PJ Kelly said: “We are all really excited about the show, its been a long time in the making and it will be our first show in a few months.

“We’re excited to debut some new material from the second album.

"This will be our third time at the Ship, the previous two nights have been sell outs and we have some incredible memories of both shows.

"The intimate venues are always fun but there is something to be said about playing in front of a larger audience also. We played at Celtic Park a few years ago before a European game, it was a game changer.

“The new album is fully recorded and is currently being mixed by our guitarist Greg Irish, it's something that has been worked on for a few years at this stage so we are eager for people to hear it. We have a single to be released at some point next month to look forward to.

“This year marks our 10th as a band and it’s only fitting that the album is released in 2017.

"We were all friends before being in a band together and knew each other from other bands.

"The album will be released later this year and we intend to play some shows around the country and possibly over in Scandinavia again.

"We can't wait to play the new material live, it's been a long time in the making."
