An Irvine woman will face trial accused of claiming almost £30,000 in benefits she wasn’t entitled to.
Gemma Bruce, 35, faces two charges of benefit fraud at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
Bruce denied that she claimed working tax credits and child tax credits whilst claiming to be a single parent when she was allegedly maintaining a common household with a man who was in paid employment and therefore she allegedly claimed £23,944 of benefits she wasn’t entitled to.
She also denied claiming £4,009 in Income Support that she wasn’t entitled to.
Bruce was granted bail and will face trial later this year.
