Detectives at Saltcoats are appealing for information after a 16 year-old boy is reported to have been assaulted and robbed of his bicycle by three men in Thornhouse Avenue, Irvine.
At around 6.45pm hours on Wednesday, April 19, a 16-year-old boy was making his way across Thornhouse Avenue, Irvine, where he was stopped by three men close to the tennis courts.
One of the men punched the boy before taking his bike and walking off in the direction of Bank Street in the general direction of Stanecastle Roundabout, Irvine.
The boy was uninjured as a result of the incident and did not require medical attention.
Enquiries are ongoing.
The first suspect is described as a man in his early 20's, 5'8" tall and of medium build. At the time of the incident he was wearing grey hooded top with dark coloured tracksuit bottoms
The second suspect is described as man in his early early 20’s, 6'2" tall, black hair, medium build. At the time of the incident he was wearing blue hooded top with white stripes and black tracksuit bottoms
The third suspect is described as man in his early 20's, medium build. At the time of the incident he was wearing dark clothing.
Detective Constable Finn Rankin, Saltcoats CID, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have been analysing CCTV and conducting door to door enquiries. At this time we are seeking anyone with information to come forward and speak to police if they witnessed anything which could help our ongoing investigation.
“I would also appeal to anyone who encounters a grey coloured B'Twin Rockrider Mountain Bike to contact officers at Saltcoats.
