A child was taken to hospital following a three-car smash in Irvine this morning.
The 11-year-old was taken to Crosshouse after three cars collided at the Warrix Interchange at 7.50am today (Tuesday, September5).
The child is not thought to be seriously injured and was taken by ambulance to hospital as a precautionary measure.
The crash, between a Hyundi, a Seat Ibiza and a Mazda cause massive tailbacks during rush hour traffic, with queues stretching right back to the Eglington Interchage and through to Kilwinning Road.
As a result two drivers were issued with fixed penalty notices for careless driving.
