A BIG-hearted Kilwinning family visited Crosshouse Hospital this week to make a generous donation.

Michael Kirkum along with son Michael Jr. and step-daughter Carly made the short journey up to the hospital, with over 600 selection boxes in tow.

Intrepid charity fundraiser Michael collected 300 last year and is delighted to have doubled up his total from last year as well as adding toys and activity books for the children spending Christmas time in hospital.

A total of 450 selection boxes were handed over to staff at the hospital with the rest of the 629 given to local groups in the Kilwinning area.

40 activity books which included colouring books, jigsaws and other fun tools were also passed over with numerous toys that had been collected by Carly.

Michael said: “We finished off with a total of 629 which is more than double last year. It is amazing, thank you to everyone who chipped in.

“A big thank you Revel’s Bar who collected over 100 alone.”
