POLICE are investigating an attempted murder after two men were struck by a car in an Irvine street.
A 52-year-old and 31-year-old were hit by a car in Dickson Drive at around 8pm last night.
The older man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment and later released. The younger man was uninjured.
Police say a 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court tomorrow.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "At around 8pm on Wednesday 20 December 2017, police received a report of two men being struck by a car in Dickson Drive.
"One of the men, aged 31 was uninjured and the other man, a 52 year old, was taken to Crosshouse Hospital. He was later released following treatment.
"Police are treating the incident as attempted murder and a 31 year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident."
