A child was hit by a car in Irvine yesterday afternoon.
The 12-year-old pupil was going across Kilwinning Road on Monday, June 4 when the collision took place.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "At 1.25pm reports came in that a 12-year-old pupil had been knocked down.
"An ambulance was not required but the mother took the child to Crosshouse Hospital as a procaution but there were no apparent injuries."
Police added that no criminality was established by officers.
