AN IRVINE man who woke up his ex-partner with a foul-mouthed tirade ended up spending a night in the cells, a court has heard.

Intoxicated Robert Allan, of Rannock Place, Castlepark, launched a torrent of abuse at his ex before smashing a lighting fixture in her home in Carron Place on December 29.

Allan, 27, had been staying at the property over the Christmas period without trouble, until he left to watch the football at the pub, saying he'd be back around 10pm.

When, by midnight he had not returned, his ex-partner went to bed only to be woken up at 12.40am when he came back in.

He pled guilty to behaving in a threatening and absusive manner at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court the following day and admitted to being horrified at his behaviour.

He was ordered to pay a fine of 210.
