A HARD-HITTING anti-knives campaign is being rolled out across Irvine and Kilwinning in a bid to cut crime.

No Knives, Better Lives has been launched in North Ayrshire following its huge success in other parts of Scotland

Figures from the Scottish Government reveal that since the campaign was introduced it has reduced knife carrying by 35 percent in Inverclyde and 28 percent in Renfrewshire.

The campaign aims to prevent young people from becoming involved in violent behaviour and potentially getting caught up in knife crime.
