THREE Kilwinning community groups are set to receive a cash boost of almost £4,000 from Council funds.
Bosses at North Ayrshire Council have split £3,700 between three groups from the Kilwinning Area Committee fund.
Kilwinning Sports Club requested £1,500 from the fund to purchase a new ride-on tractor which will allow the group to develop the skills of five local young people who are learning vocational grounds maintenance skills at the club through the Community Jobs Scotland Scheme.
The club plan to increase the number of placements on this scheme to up to 30.
A council spokesman said: "By recommending the cost of the ride on tractor will make the club less reliant on the Council to carry out grounds maintenance tasks currently performed by North Ayrshire Council.
"The use of the equipment will be an ongoing part of a training scheme with young disadvantaged members of the local community in conjunction with agency partners Rathbone Services."
Another group looking set to benefit is Kidzone in Dalry Road who requested £2,000 to enable them to run music workshops.
