A MAN has appeared in court after an 82-year-old Kilwinning woman was allegedly attacked and robbed in her home.

The pensioner was allegedly pushed to the floor in her Woodmill home by an intruder who fled with her handbag last Wednesday (May 25).

Duncan Johnstone, 22, is accused of assault and robbery, two counts of being found in circumstances where the intention of theft was likely, and drug possession.

Johnstone, of Irvine, made no plea nor declaration at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody for further investigation.
