A STAFFORDSHIRE bull terrier named Tyson will have to wear a muzzle whenever out in Irvine, by order of the courts.
The decision was made following the trial of Sean McMoreland, who was accused of owning a dog that was dangerously out of control in the town on September 7, last year.
It was alleged that Tyson bit another dog while out near McMoreland’s home in Park Place.
McMoreland, 29, stood trial at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and was found guilty.
He was ordered to pay £300 in compensation to the other dog’s owner and fined £200.
In addition, it was ordered that Tyson be muzzled at all times in public and placed on a short, strong lead. It was further ordered that he wear a collar bearing his owner’s name and address at all times.
