TEAM members from the Irvine’s Wilko store in the Rivergate Centre are to host a race night fundraising event at Castlepark Community Centre on Saturday, August 2.

The event will be held in aid of Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS), the store’s new regional charity of the year.

CHAS is the only charity in Scotland that provides vital hospice services for children and young people with life-shortening conditions. The charity currently offers care for 300 families across Scotland, many of whom receive bereavement support.

The event is open to both team members and customers and will start at 7pm. Wilko team members will be on hand throughout the evening to help guests place free bets on historical horse races, as well as selling tickets for a raffle, which will consist of prizes kindly donated by Rangers Football Club, Prestwick Golf Club and Ambition Tattoo Studio.

Derek Masson, section leader at Wilko in Irvine, said: “We’re all excited for the event and I am proud of how much effort the team has put into its organisation. The race night is open to everyone in the Irvine area, we hope to see lots of our customers there to join in the fun and raise as much money as possible for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.”
