IRVINE will be playing host to several events to raise awareness of the crisis in Palestine.

The Ayrshire Palestine Forum have organised the Ayrshire Palestine Fortnight which will run from Monday, September 29 to Sunday, October 12.

The events will raise awareness of the case for justice and peace for Palestinian people. On Wednesday, October 1 and Tuesday, October 7 there will be a free showing of the film Tears of Gaza at the Harbour Arts Centre on 7.30pm.

The group will be holding a street stall across from Bridgegate House between 10.30am and 11.30am on Friday, October 3.

And on Saturday, October 11 the group will be taking part in a solidarity walk in support of the Boycott Israel Campaign. They will meet at Bridgegate House at noon to walk through the Rivergate Shopping Centre and past the main supermarkets carrying placards.
