Annick Primary School hosted visitors from the Royal British Legion as part of P7’s project on World War One.
The Royal British Legion visited Primary 7’s at Annick Primary School to answer questions on the first World War, one hundred years after the conflict began.
As part of their project, pupils had been making Anderson shelters and gas masks, and this was their chance to see the real thing as uniforms, helmets, gas masks and medical supplies were on display.
The next four years of Primary 7’s will learn about World War One as part of their studies and this visit was one of many performed by the local branch of the Royal British Legion.
Legion man Alastair Kennedy said: “We’re the only branch in the whole of Scotland that makes these visits.
“We’ve been doing them for nine years and we’ve visited over 70 schools across the country and we’ll visit any school that will have us. We explain how terrible war really is.”
