IRVINE'S MP has organised a Grant Aid Seminar to help organisations in the community.

MP for Central Ayrshire, Brian Donohoe has been arranging the event to assist local organisers in gaining grants for the last decade and said: “They have proved very successful in giving information to community organisers and supporters about how to get grants and an opportunity to make contact with representatives of national funding organisations.” The national bodies which are attending the event to give advice include BBC Children in Need, the Big Lottery Fund, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Westsound Cash for Kids, Lloyds TSB Foundation Scotland and North Ayrshire Council.

Brian Donohoe confirmed that there could be more organisations attending the event to offer advice and said: “I would hope that in this present climate the seminars will be as busy as ever in order to ensure community projects are put in touch with any possible sources of money which may be available.” The event will take place at Vineburgh Community Centre on 12th February between 6.30pm - 8.30pm and anyone interested in attending should contact Mr Donohoe’s constituency office by email donohoec@parliament.uk or phone 01294 276844.
